FTP Server: SFTP, WiFi, WebDAV

1. OVERVIEW

BCGateLab built FTP Server: SFTP, WiFi, WebDAV as a free utility app with an optional paid upgrade. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the app.

In short: FTP Server: SFTP, WiFi, WebDAV does NOT collect, transmit, or sell any personal information. The app acts as a local server daemon allowing direct file transfers between your phone and your computer or other devices over your local Wi-Fi or hotspot. All files, connection logs, and preferences stay entirely on your device. The only third-party data flows are through Google AdMob (free version) and Google Play Billing (Pro upgrade), both governed by Google's own policies.

2. DATA WE COLLECT

We do NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal data or files on our servers. There is no user account, no sign-in, and no registration required to use this app.

• Personal information (name, email, etc.): Not collected
• Personal files & media (photos, videos, docs): Not collected or uploaded
• Device location data: Not collected
• Server connection logs & history: Stored on your device only
• App preferences & settings: Stored on your device only
• Server credentials (usernames, passwords): Stored on your device only
• Biometric data (fingerprint): Processed by Android OS hardware only; never accessed by the app
• Advertising ID / analytics: Google AdMob only (free version)
• Purchase confirmation: Google Play Billing only

3. APP PERMISSIONS

FTP Server: SFTP, WiFi, WebDAV requests the following Android permissions:

• MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE:
  Core functionality permission. Required to allow you to browse, download, upload, and organize files on your device from an external client (such as your computer's browser, FileZilla, or Windows Explorer) over local FTP, SFTP, and WebDAV protocols. File operations are handled strictly in real time between your device and your connected client.
• INTERNET:
  Required to open local TCP server sockets on your device, load AdMob ads (free version), and verify Pro purchases with Google Play.
• ACCESS_WIFI_STATE & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE:
  Required to retrieve your device's local Wi-Fi / hotspot IP address (so you can view the connection URL on your screen) and check network availability before requesting an ad.
• FOREGROUND_SERVICE & FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC:
  Required to keep the server running continuously during file transfers so transfers are not terminated when your screen turns off or when you switch apps.
• WAKE_LOCK:
  Prevents the device processor from sleeping while active server transfers are in progress.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+):
  Displays the ongoing status bar notification with your server IP, active port, and a quick Stop Server button.
• USE_BIOMETRIC & USE_FINGERPRINT:
  Optional. Used only if you choose to enable the app lock feature. Authenticated entirely by Android's BiometricPrompt API; no biometric data is ever collected or stored.

No permission is used to access contacts, microphone, camera, or any data unrelated to the app's core local file server functionality.

4. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The app integrates with the following third-party services:

• Google AdMob: Serves advertising in the free version. AdMob may collect advertising identifiers and usage signals. See Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
• Google Play Billing: Handles the one-time Pro upgrade purchase. We never see or store your payment details. See Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

We do not include any other analytics SDKs, crash-reporting SDKs, or marketing SDKs in the app.

5. ADVERTISING (ADMOB)

The free version of FTP Server: SFTP, WiFi, WebDAV displays banner and interstitial ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID) to show relevant ads.

Pro users: Purchasing the Pro upgrade completely removes all ads. AdMob is not initialized and no advertising data is collected for Pro users.

You can opt out of interest-based advertising at any time via: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization (or Delete advertising ID).

6. IN-APP PURCHASES (PRO UPGRADE)

FTP Server: SFTP, WiFi, WebDAV offers a one-time Pro Upgrade purchase to remove all ads and unlock Pro features. This is processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We do not receive, store, or process any payment card or bank information.

Upon purchase, a confirmation flag is stored locally on your device to unlock Pro features. This never leaves your device.

You can restore a previous purchase anytime via: Premium → Restore Purchases.

7. LOCAL STORAGE & FILE ACCESS

All data generated by FTP Server: SFTP, WiFi, WebDAV is stored exclusively on your device and never transmitted anywhere:

• Server connection logs: Stored in a local SQLite database. You can clear logs anytime in Settings, or enable automatic log cleanup after a set number of days.
• App preferences: Ports, passive ranges, and user credentials stored securely in local database/preferences.
• Served files: Read and written strictly upon commands from your authorized local network client. Files are never sent to external or cloud servers.

Server credentials and logs are excluded from Android cloud backups.

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

FTP Server: SFTP, WiFi, WebDAV is a utility tool intended for general audiences. It does not target children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

9. SECURITY

Because we do not operate servers or collect personal data, there is no central data store that could be breached. All data remains on your device, protected by Android's built-in security (app sandboxing, storage encryption, etc.). For maximum transfer security, the app supports password authentication, IP whitelisting, and encrypted SFTP / FTPS protocols.

10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective" date at the top of this page. Continued use of FTP Server: SFTP, WiFi, WebDAV after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
